What's in the template

Weekly lesson plan (page 1). An 11 x 8.5 in landscape page with a row for each period and a column for each school day. Teacher, class and week fields sit at the top, with a notes line at the bottom.

Daily lesson plan (page 2). Rows for subject and date, standards, the objective ("students will be able to…"), materials, warm-up, instruction and guided practice, independent practice and assessment, and homework and differentiation.

Ways to use it

  • Elementary: one row per subject: reading, writing, math, science, social studies, specials.
  • Middle and high school: one row per class period, with the room number in the header.
  • Preschool: rows for circle time, centers, outdoor play, snack and story.
  • Homeschool: one row per subject, or two rows per child. See homeschool planners.

How to edit it

  1. Open the .docx in Word or Google Docs.
  2. Rename the rows: click "Period 1" and type your subject.
  3. Fill in the week, or print it blank and write by hand.
  4. Save a copy for each week, or keep one master and print it.
