CE seminar workbook printing for in-person courses
Our CE seminar workbook printing gives each attendee a book to follow the slides, take notes and keep. Pick a coil workbook of up to 48 interior pages or a stapled booklet of 8 to 16 pages, from 10 to 100 copies. Upload your course PDF, approve a proof, and we ship the books to the hotel or training center.

Formats for continuing education courses
If your course is slides plus room for notes, the black-and-white coil workbook fits.
| Your course | Format | 25 copies | 50 copies |
|---|---|---|---|
| Slide handouts and notes, up to 48 pages | Black-and-white coil workbook with a color cover | $299 ($11.96 each) | $529 ($10.58 each) |
| Color charts or photos, up to 48 pages | Color coil workbook | $369 ($14.76 each) | $649 ($12.98 each) |
| A short course or quick-reference guide, 8 to 16 pages | Letter booklet, stapled | $169 ($6.76 each) | $249 ($4.98 each) |
Any quantity from 10 to 100 is priced in proportion between tiers, and one price covers any page count within a format. Boxes are included and postage is at cost; the price calculator shows the delivered total to the venue's ZIP code. You can also compare the color and black-and-white coil workbooks side by side. How many slides fit
A 144-slide deck at three slides per page, with note lines beside each slide, fits in 48 pages. Fewer slides per page leave more room to write. Six per page holds twice as many slides but leaves almost no room for notes. Count your title page, agenda and resource pages in the 48.
Color slides in a black-and-white book
Color prints as shades of gray inside the black-and-white book. Dark slide backgrounds print as heavy gray, so export the handout from a light version of your theme. Two colors of similar lightness can print as the same gray, so label chart lines and bars. Before you upload, print a few pages in black and white on an office printer to check the charts.
Set up the course file
Send one PDF: the front cover on page 1, then the interior pages in reading order.
- Set pages to 8.5 x 11 in, or 8.75 x 11.25 in when anything touches the edge.
- Keep text 0.25 in inside the trim, and keep 0.5 in clear on the coil edge.
- Coil workbook: add up to 48 interior pages after the cover. Leave the back cover out; it is blank cover stock.
- Booklet: send exactly 8, 12 or 16 pages, counting both covers, with the back cover last.
- Embed your fonts and export a PDF.
Exporting handout pages from your slide app? Check that nothing sits within 0.5 in of the coil edge.
Templates
- Coil workbook template, 8.5 x 11 in (Word) (DOCX) has mirrored margins for the coil edge, heading styles and writing lines.
- Booklet template, 8.5 x 11 in (Word) (DOCX) starts with the cover on page 1 for a letter booklet.
- Print guide: letter coil workbook (PDF) marks bleed, the safe area and the coil band for design apps.
The artwork guide covers fonts, image resolution and common file problems.
Plan back from the seminar date
Count back from the day attendees arrive: transit, then production, then the proof.
- Your file. Lock the slides, then upload the course PDF and tell us the seminar date.
- Proof. You get a digital proof the same business day we receive a complete file. Approve it, or ask for one round of changes.
- Production. We print and bind your books in 1 to 3 business days after approval and payment.
- Transit. USPS Ground Advantage takes the box to the venue. USPS lists 2 to 5 business days for this service.
Nothing prints until you approve, and a digital proof confirms content and layout, not exact color. A late slide change is easy to fix on the proof. After approval, it is a reprint.
One seminar, several cities
Place one order per venue. Each order ships to one address and starts at 10 copies, so time each one from its own session date. For later stops, reorder from your saved approved file once you confirm it is still current. Fixed a slide after the first city? Upload the revised file and approve a new proof for the next stop.
Shipping to the hotel or training center
We ship each order to one address. Hotels often hold event boxes only within a set window and may charge handling fees, so ask the venue first. Give us the receiving contact and the label wording with your order. Large orders may arrive in more than one box, each with its own tracking number. Venues in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and U.S. territories get a shipping quote before you pay.
When the course changes
Upload the new edition and approve a fresh proof. We keep your approved file for reorders. Put the edition date on the cover or in the footer, so you can see which version each class received.
