Leadership program workbook printing for academies and classes
Our leadership program workbook printing gives each participant one book for the program year: the calendar, readings, session notes and project pages. Order 10 to 100 copies, approve a proof of your exact file, and we ship the set to opening day. Next year, update the dates, approve a new proof, and print the same book for the new class.

Plan the year's materials
Leadership classes meet on set dates with the same group all year, so one workbook can carry the whole program. Add booklets only where a day needs its own handout.
| What you hand out | Format | 30 copies | 50 copies |
|---|---|---|---|
| One workbook for the whole program, up to 48 pages | Color coil workbook, 8.5 x 11 | $425 ($14.17 each) | $649 ($12.98 each) |
| Readings and writing pages, up to 48 pages | Black-and-white coil workbook with a color cover | $345 ($11.50 each) | $529 ($10.58 each) |
| A booklet for each session day, 8 to 16 pages | Letter booklet, 8.5 x 11, stapled | $185 ($6.17 each) | $249 ($4.98 each) |
| A retreat guide, 8 to 16 pages | Small color booklet, 5.5 x 8.5, stapled | $129 ($4.30 each) | $169 ($3.38 each) |
Any whole quantity from 10 to 100 is priced in proportion between tiers, and one price covers any page count within a format. Postage is at cost; the price calculator shows the delivered total to your venue's ZIP code. Count participants, then add copies for staff, facilitators and guest speakers.
One workbook or a booklet per session?
- One coil workbook: the whole year in one book that lies flat on the table. You order once, so every page must be final before opening day.
- A booklet per session day: you finish each agenda closer to its date. Each is a separate order, with its own 10-copy minimum and postage.
Not sure which coil book fits? Compare the color and black-and-white workbooks side by side.
What goes in a program workbook
Build the book around your session calendar, then add the pages people use all year.
| Section | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Welcome | A letter from the director and the program goals |
| Calendar | Every session day, with times and locations |
| Class roster | Names, organizations and contact details |
| Session pages | The agenda, speakers, readings and reflection questions for each day |
| Class project | The project plan, milestones and team roles |
| Sponsors | A thank-you page with logos you have permission to use |
Count pages before you design. Nine session days at four pages each fill 36 of the 48 interior pages. That leaves 12 for the welcome, calendar, roster and project pages. Running long? Split the year into two books, such as fall and spring, or ask for a custom quote.
Set up the file
Send one PDF of single pages in reading order.
- Coil workbook: the front cover on page 1, then up to 48 interior pages. Leave out the back cover; it is blank cover stock.
- Booklet: exactly 8, 12 or 16 pages, counting the front and back covers.
- Bleed: when anything touches the edge, set pages to 8.75 x 11.25 in, or 5.75 x 8.75 in for the small booklet.
- Margins: keep text 0.25 in inside the trim and 0.5 in clear of the coil edge.
- Fonts and photos: embed your fonts, and place photos at 300 ppi at their printed size.
Put the class year on the cover and an edition date in the footer. Next year's update then starts with the cover, the calendar and the roster.
Templates
- Coil workbook template, 8.5 x 11 in (Word) (DOCX) has the coil margins already set.
- Booklet template, 8.5 x 11 in (Word) (DOCX) starts with the cover on page 1.
- Print guide: letter coil workbook (PDF) marks bleed, the safe area and the coil band for design apps.
All three are on the free workbook templates page.
Timeline: work back from opening day
Count back from the day the class meets: transit, then production, then the proof.
- Your file. Lock the calendar and speaker list, upload your PDF, and tell us the session date.
- Proof. You get a digital proof the same business day we receive a complete file. Approve it, or ask for one round of changes.
- Production. We print and bind your books in 1 to 3 business days after approval and payment.
- Transit. USPS Ground Advantage takes the box to the venue. USPS lists 2 to 5 business days for this service.
A digital proof confirms content and layout, not exact color. Fix a late speaker change on the proof; after approval, a change is a reprint.
Ship to opening day or the retreat
Send the full set to the venue for orientation, or split the year into several orders, each shipped before its session. Each order goes to one address. Give us the name of the person who receives packages, and ask the venue how to label event boxes. Planning an opening retreat? See retreat workbooks for guides and journals.
The same program next year
We keep your approved file, so next year's class starts from the edition you already proofed. If nothing changed, confirm the saved file is still current and reorder. If you updated dates, speakers or the roster, upload the new file and approve a new proof.
